QB Brian Jones - IFL Offensive Player of the Week
Info from goifl.com
The Arkansas Diamonds and Amarillo Venom met twice during the IFL regular season. They each came away with a victory. Now with the bright lights of a bigger stage being shined upon them, the question would be who could come out on top?
The Diamonds ended up shinning brightest in a spectacular grid-iron match-up against Amarillo by a 46-31 finish. The Diamonds brilliance on offense was led by QB Brian Jones. The Arkansas quarterback went 15 for 27 on his passing attempts, good for 246 yards and five touchdowns. The scoring power didn’t stop there. Jones also proved to be apt on his ground game. Scrambling for 42 yards on ten rushes, the mobile QB came away with a rushing touchdown to aid in his teams’ victory. With the Conference Finals looming, Jones and the Diamonds will need to stay sharp as they head into Billings to battle the Outlaws.
Kickoff will be at at 7pm Mountain time (8:0pm CST) this Saturday in Billings MT.

Diamonds best Venom 46-31
Info from goifl.com
Coming into this Conference Semi-Final game, the Arkansas Diamonds (13-3) and the Amarillo Venom (12-4) met twice during the IFL regular season. The season series ended with a win a piece for both teams. The tiebreaker could not be held on any bigger a stage as the two squared off for the rights to play in the Intense Conference Championship game.
While Amarillo appeared to strike earlier out of the gate, the Diamonds would end up cashing in on a victory. Arkansas scored four unanswered touchdowns in the second quarter to establish a lead they would never relinquish for a 46-31 win over the Venom. Amarillo QB Julian Reese seemed poised to take his team to the top. He went 14 for 25 with 235 yards and four touchdowns. However, Diamonds QB Brian Jones would more than match that performance. Going 15 for 26 on his passing attempts, Jones had 246 yards with five passes going in for touchdown receptions. He also had 42 yards and a touchdown on ten rushes. Arkansas will have a tough road ahead as they travel to Billings for the Intense Conference Championship game. They will need a repeat offensive outburst if they wish to shine through to the United Bowl.
